  • Can anyone play drone Soccer?

    Drone soccer is a completely inclusive team sport. It can be played by anyone, any age, regardless of fitness or disability.

  • Do I need any technical knowledge to play?

    No. Although drone soccer is being introduced as part of introductory STEM learning, in the USA and Europe, there is no knowledge barrier to getting started. Flying the soccer drone, soon becomes intuitive as players gain experience and work together as a team.

  • Is drone soccer known by any other name in other countries?

    Drone soccer is sometimes referred to as ‘quadcopter soccer’
    (bit of a mouthfull!)

  • What are the rules?

    When you want to start competition games, there is a full set of rules set out by the FIA. See button to download of the bottom of this page.

  • Do I have to register my soccer drone with the FAA?

    No. The Balkin soccer drone is under both the weight and size of drone requiring registration and because it is flown within a protected arena, the height at which it is flown cannot exceed the height of the arena. Therefore your soccer drone does not require registration or licence.

  • Do I need any other equipment?

    Your drone may take a hammering in play, but is well protected by its ‘ball’ enclosure. Even so, a repair kit with essential tools and spare parts - propellers, screws etc - make immediate repairs possible. You will also need spare batteries and multiple charging stations for all players.
